Laman Hendricks was born in Azerbaijan and grew up in Azerbaijan and Turkey. She has studied classical ballet, folk dances, and many other dance styles at the Baku Choreography Academy in her home country. Laman continues her career and education in bellydance, classical ballet, and folk dances. She travels around states and different countries sharing her knowledge, love, and passion in dance in different workshops and festivals. Laman is known for her Azerbaijani, Georgian, and Middle Eastern Folk Dances; she is also known for her Turkish style bellydance and Sulukule (Turkish Romani), but she does not limit her performances from other bellydance styles too. She believes that art has no limits.
Azerbaijani Folkloric Dance
This workshop covers foot patterns, arm and upper body technique, facial expressions, and stage use.
Turkish Classical Oriental
This workshop starts with a short lecture about Turkish Oriental--its origin and a short history. We will cover arm technique, undulations, and traditional movements in the dance and meanings of each move. We will look at floor work and learn a full choreography.
